Hi

I'm trying to setup my WRT54GS to a internet connection with a static IP adress.

I get this error
"IP address and gateway is not at same subnet mask!"

But if i connect the internet directly to my computer and setup the IP, gateway, subnet and DNS it works fine?

I've tryede it several times an always this error!

On an DHCP internet connection there is no problem with the router.

Does anyone know what this message means? - and what I am dooing wrong?

It probably means that the IP address and gateway that you've assigned is not on the same local subnet. Does your ISP require you to use static IP setups?

Yes my ÌSP requres me to use a static IP

The IP I using is someting like this (changede the numbers a bit) - but the 3 first numbers are the same, only the last number is different

77.43.135.234
77.43.135.30

You should only need one static IP address, assigned to the router as its connection type of Static.

Let the router DHCP and NAT local IPs for the workstation clients using an IANA private IP range, such as the default of 192.168.1.x, subnet 255.255.255.0

Or, do not use the WAN port on the router at all. Connect the modem to a regular LAN port, just as you will the clients, and disable DHCP on the router.

Sorry
- I wrote my IP and then my gateway

The setup looks something like this
IP 77.43.135.234
subnet 255.255.255.252
gateway 77.43.135.30

I'm using a local IP range for internal use and DHCP.

And i have no problems with the internal connections and no problems connecting to the router.

But when I enter the Ip subnet and gateway I can't save the configuration.
