WRT54G w/Sveasoft...use router as range extender AND wireless bridge?

My question is...

Can both solutions listed above be implemented on the same "repeater" router? In other words, can you configure the repeater router to act as a range extender for an existing wireless network as well as a wireless bridge for an ethernet device?

My situation is that I want to hook my xbox up to the repeater via cat5 (on the 2nd floor of the house) and have it communicate with another box on the lan through the main router via the wireless link (both on the first floor). Other wireless computers on the lan on the second floor cannot communicate with the main router on the first floor due to signal strength issues. I have already tried pumping the transmit power up some, which doesn't seem to help. I would like the wireless computers on the second floor to use the repeater as a range extender for the router on the first floor, while using the repeater as a wireless ethernet bridge for the xbox at the same time.

I've followed sawback's directions for setting up WDS and I've been able to get the repeater to act as a range extender, but his directions for setting up as a bridge (or client) have a different set of settings.

I know that I could pay $20 and ask this question on the Sveasoft forums, but $20 seems a little steep to me for one question.

Is this possible? If so, are there any steps you could provide to make this work for me?

No.
You need to buy another box: either another WRT54G/GS or WAP54G or the Linksys range extender.

The fundamental problem is that the device has a single radio.

bcastner, thanks for the reply.

I also noticed that you mostly answered my next question in another thread.

If I used the WRE54G to extend the wireless range of my current wireless network, will it cut my bandwidth in half for everything connected through it like the WRT54G does when used in WDS mode as a range extender? What I'm thinking is I should buy the range expander and use the router I currently have set up as a range expander and use it as a wireless client for my xbox. Will this work for me without reducing my bandwidth?
