WRT54G Remote Management port always open?

My WRT54G wireless router with the latest firmware (1.42.3) appears to have the remote management port exposed - even if the option is disabled on the Administration setup page. A request from the internet to

http://xx.xx.xx.xx:80

(the

http://WWW default

port) brings up the LinksSys logon screen.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I'd call support and let them know of the problem, might require a factory reset.

I cannot duplicate the problem. To begin with the default management port is 8080. Port 80 needs to be exposed.

. Check the assignment of the management port
. Be certain you have no devices in the DMZ
