Hi,
I have a company network with dhcp, dns etc....I am just getting into wireless. I have about 4 laptops that I will be connected wirelessly. When I try to connect the laptops to the network through the linksys wrt54g, they get the IP 192.168.x.x address instead of my LAN IP (10.0.x.x). When I disable the dhcp function on the linksys rtouter, the lptops do not get an IP at all.
Thanks

It sounds as if your network already has a DHCP server. What you want to do is:

1. plug the connection from your network into the UPLINK port on the WRT54G, not the WAN port;
2. disable DHCP on the Linksys
3. Select 'router' instead of Gateway mode on the Linksys

This makes the Linksys act as a sort-of wireless switch on your network, with DHCP addresses being assigned by your network just as your regular wired clients are assigned IPs currently.
