Hi
My router has been working fine until I got comcast broadband.
Now I I cannot get it to work. I can connect direct to my PC from the comcast modem but when I connect my router I cannot access the internet.

Please help... Comcast will not support my issue.

FYI... I tried the netSet tool from Linksys that will autodetect and autoconfig the router but that does not work.
Says my router is not supported.

1. Surprised to hear Comcast's negative response. Here (in Chicago) I have Comcast broadband and their technical support seems to be willing to go the extra mile with problems. You might just have gotten staff who was having a bad day or was in over his/her head. You should definitely call them back and try again. If they again tell you they won't help, demand to speak to a supervisor.

2. Linksys/Cisco have very good technical support. I've had very good experience with them. Definitely should also give them a call.

3. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

I speak on the other side, saying I have found Comcast to be very difficult to work with both on the tech support and customer service side and have been mostly frustrated with them.

As far as your issue, were you perhaps using DSL before you switched to Comcast? If so usually DSL is set up on a PPOE set up and cable with DHCP. I would suspect this is your problem based on the fact your PC is set to DHCP and does work directly. Go into your router and see if this setting is set to DHCP and not PPOE.
