Wrong wav format for IPhone

I'm told that there is a server side setting to change the format of a voicemail sent to a subsciber. Currently it is sending a WAV file, and some users on IPhones can not play this format. Is there a feature to change this per subscriber or is it a global change ? thank you

if this answers your question, we are using one MAS and MSS with exchange (2007)

It is not possible to use MM with more than one backend.

Are you saying you have MM for MSS that you are forwarding to your Exchange 2007 system somehow?
