Has anyone ever had a problem where you set up a dsn connection and put the server's IP address in and test it only to find out that the test is using a different ip address? I can't understand this one bit. I created a DSN connection to an IP address and when I test it, it comes back and says that my password is incorrect for userID@141.156.100.210 when it should be using userID@141.156.101.9

any thoughts or ideas?

I am using a VB.net application that makes a call to the odbc driver with the path, userID, and password. Should I even have to create a DSN?

Thanks

Figured out my problem. You have to go to the server and give permission to the user name at that host. Change the permissions that you want on the server for that user and user machine.
