In ACT! 9 I can't get the country codes on phone fields to be set correctly on import from a text-delimited file.
I followed the ACT! KB article on "How to replace phone format" by importing first into another field and then copying to the phone field. This almost works...but not quite. In Contact View the phone number is shown correctly formatted but always with the (1) country code in front of it. In List View the number is shown as copied, i.e. not correctly formatted. If I then click the phone format button in Contact View and OK, everything rights itself - correct country code and format in both Contact and List views. If it was just a few records I could select and click on each one but I have over 3000 records to import, which makes this a bit impractical. In ACTdiag there is an "Apply phone masks" fix but this does not help.
It has to be a bug but does anyone have a workaround?
Normal record entry works fine - it's just with import that I have the problem. The formatting is important because of the dialer, so I can't just use Free Format.
Thanks for any comments.
