writting to external variables?

some more help plz

After you take a value from a txt datasource, and its modified by the user, how do you get it written back to the datasource, in other words how do you save data into external txt variables with generator. So far I've seen enough of taking data from external variables, but I haven't seen any writting. Thanks for any help u give

I checked up on this, and I'm assuming the only way to do this is to use something like CGI script, or any scripting language, including like ASP, if you know any direct method, let me know
