Writing data to text files problem

In a module I am opening a text file and placing data into it then viewing it in Wordpad. I want to put the Word "Total" in the text file but I want to underline and bold it. I am using the code to place it in the file but how can I underline and bold it?
Print #2, "Total"

I can't get a toolbar to appear that allows the underline or bold. I even tried to cut and paste it from MS Word but it pasted without the underline and bold.

Can this be done? Thanks.

when you output to a text file, it's just pure text, i.e. no markup

if you want formatting then you should try to output to or create a word or excel document...
