Writing a trigger for updating a table

hi,

I have problem in writing a trigger.I want the trigger to be triggered when a field is updated in a table (TAB1).When the field is updated the trigger should Update another table (TAB2) with the following information. i.e Hostname(the client which updated the field),Time & Date.
Is it possible? if so, can any body help how to write the trigger with an eg.
