Writing a GUI for AIX

I am planning on writing a GUI tool for AIX which graphs data from a commonly used AIX application.

In order to make this tool usable by others, what would the best choice of graphical toolkit be ?

Any suggestions welcome.

I made a graphical representation of the sar output in a webpage , combined cgi with java-applets.I think for graphing this is very useful, but a java applet takes sometimes a while to load, so performance isn't allways the best.

Also take a look at python & the reportlab module
