Writer Does Fine, Distiller Hangs

I am having a consistent problem printing a PDF project, and it goes like this: original native file format is a Word document. When distilling this document and optimizing for print or press publication, the print job will stop EVERYTIME at those places in the document where table cells are found.
This same document, if converted in PDF Writer, will print every page without any hangs. Also, if I select a b/w printer rather than LaserJet color, it will print in either the Writer or Distiller version.

My best educated guess on this glitch is that perhaps the LaserJet color printer is lacking the Postscript font types to accomodate the Distiller version?

Anyone? Help?

I'm answering my own question, because no one else seems inclined too. The problem is a 'known issue' surrounding the use of 'WingDings' with PDF. Apparently the Laser Printer has a problem with WingDings, unless they arrive as Embedded TrueType fonts. Once I embedded this file and saved it with a new version number, every page printed flawlessly.

Oddly enough (NOT!), my postings on Adobe.com's support site for Acrobat did not elicit this information. If it's
a known-issue, my question is WHY DIDN'T it?

Oh, well.....
