Hello

I have an Excel addin that needs to write to the root of the C drive but Vista gives me an access error even though I am an administrator.

Does anyone know if I can get round this, please?

Regards
Chris Bezant

What is the exact error message you are seeing?

Can your username write/create/save a plain old text file to the root of C: drive?

Which version of Excel are you using? Are there updated versions of this unknown "Addin" available?

Make sure you are an administrator when you try to do this. I belive standard users cannot write to any place other than their user folder in C:\Users.
