I have used a cartridge writed in a HP SureStore DLT 40e tape, with ARCserveIT in Wondows NT.
Now I want to use it in a StorEDGE L9 Tape Autoloader of Sun Microsystems with Solaris 2.5.
The message appears: drive icon is a padlock and besides the text "drive idle" .
The external switch of the cartridge is off.
If I run "mt -f /dev/rmt/1 status" appears:

SCSI tape drive:
sense key(0x7)= Write Protected residual= 0 retries= 0
file no= 0 block no= 0

How to do for unprotecting ?
Thank you in advance

Flick the write protect tab over. It is located on the front right of the DLT tape.

Thank you for your fast answer.
As I said in the other message, the write protect tab was flicked off.

Have you any idea?
