Is it possible to partition a USB flash memory drive and then "write-protect" the first partition so that it becomes read-only?

If so, is it further possible to put some protection in place to prevent the re-partitioning or formatting of the first, write-protected partition?

Regards,

check with the manufacturer of your flash drive. various makers have virious software options
