write conflict

I have a front end in MS ACCESS 2000 and backend SQL SERVER 7.0. If I enter something from the front end, this adds to the backend, but if i again try to change some of the fields i entered some time before, it gives me WRITE CONFLICT message. It says the other user has just changed the data and if you change anything it will overwrite the changes made by other user. But it grays the Save button on the Dialog box. It doesnot allow even to delete or update that record.Rebooting the computer also doesnot erase the lock. Any help

Change the record locking granularity by going to Tools/Optios/Advanced and clicking the "Open databases using record-level locking" check box. Tyrone Lumley

Fixed this problem by installing a later version of MDAC (2.6 or 2.7)
