We are using GroupWise 6.0. I have previously used 5.5 and beleive that when you gave another user write access to your mailbox then when they sent a mail from you via proxy then their name also appeared in the From box when the recepient received the mail.
We have tried the same in 6.0 and it only shows the name of the person who you have write acess to and not the name of the person who typed the message.
Hope the above all makes sense!

Sending internally you will see the message

From: Joe Shmoe (Dirk Dillanger)

The first being the user mailbox being accessed, the second being the user accessing the mailbox through proxy.

Internet however will just have the senders name, and the sender is the mailbox owners name.

SeanCan can conferm this; he's a GWCNE Brent Schmidt CNE, Network +
Senior Network Engineer

Thanks!

We are now able to do it but notice that anyone can use this facility regardless of them having proxy access or not ie any user can compose a mail, remove their name and put my name in and the mail will be sent on my behalf from that user even though he has no proxy access to my mailbox.

Any suggestions of how we can stop this?
