Hi,

Can a wpar act as a NFS server??

Thanks

Not sure, but I tnink the answer is no. A wpar is in essence an NFS client itself and has no direct access to disks and filesystems...

Update!

Since AIX 6.1 TL4 a WPAR can "own" SAN devices, so it can "own" a volume group and filesystems also. So exporting and NFS-serving those filesystems may work. I'd try it to see what happens.

FYI 6.1 TL 4 has a bug where a chvg on a svg causes the first block of the disk to be over written..... IZ67529

A WPAR is a virtualized operating system, not an NFS client. WPAR's are similar to FreeBSD jails and Solaris zones, while an LPAR is similar to Sun's Logical Domains.
