WP8 macro start slow on Win2k

My WP8 runs perfectly on a Win95 300 MHz computer. On a W2k 933 MHz computer, the macros run well and blazingly fast, but each one takes a full 4 seconds to start. For long macros, this does not matter, but for repeated use of short macros (e.g. go to next paragraph) the macros are useless. Corel tells me they have not heard of this symptom under W2k and suggest antivirus as the cause, but disabling antivirus makes no change. Has anybody encountered slow macro starts before??
