I am running Windows XP and WordPerfect 8. Every So often I will have a client that will start to hang every time they try to open WP. It will come up saying the program is not responding, and will end the task. The only work around I have found is to give them "admin" rights to the local machine.(they are power users right now). Why is this. I really don't want them having this right. Can anyone tell me a better solution?

WP 8 is not at all supported on Windows XP, so anything you get is a bonus.

Howeve, you may try removing and reinstalling as Administrator.

Actually your right, we came across the same issue when we rolled out XP. WP makes calls to the registry and if the users workstation are "locked down" with a power user account then alot ot times you will get that problem. Depending on your network enviroment Novell, MS you could create/enable user packages upon login that will bypass some of these issues (can specify some specific rights within those packages that would bypass the local accounts on the wkstation, so you could give powerusers right to the reg etc..)
But to be honest I really don't see a work around for it other than that, Wordperfect loves the registry and powerusers won't cut it...
