WP10-File|Save-as 'drop-down box' of drives is slow-1st time only.

When I click on File|Save-as and then click on the 'drop-down box' of drives, the system apprears to be hung until a list of available drives is presented. System works OK after the first use of the arrowed box. [this is true with quattro pro also.] Any ideas on how to make it faster? thanks

Sounds like the machine is looking for files on various drives. Is it looking for a file file on the most recent files open list on either the A: drive or maybe on another computer on a network?

thanks, but no.. no dirve in "A" with no corrresponding "A" hatter lookiing for a disk - and net work can be up or down.
