WP 9 to Acrobat PDF Formatting Issue

I am trying to convert a document to .pdf format. This is usually straight forward and simple except when I am converting WordPerfect files. For example, I have one document that is foramtted with page numbers at the bottom of the page and when I convert it to .pdf format using Acrobat 6.0 Professional it moves the content from the lower pages upward. So for example on page 1 in WordPerfect it is layed out correctly but in the .pdf file it has all of page 1's content and page number and then the first line from page 2 in WordPerfect also on page 1 of the .pdf file. I seem to have weird formatting issues like this regularly, has anyone else encountered anything like this or know how to get WP and Acrobat to play nice?

Have you tried the pdf converter included with WordPerfect? In version 9 it us under File - Published to PDF. It will be greyed out unless you have a document open.
