i just recived this...

as/400 advanced system

IBM Application System/400 9404

and some big black thing with an old huge IDE hard drive in it and ALOT of Paralell ports...

it looks like a olt terminal computer system for like a library PAC or somthing with thoose DUMB terminals but i would like to know if there is any way i could hook it up to my XP system through the paralell ports on either machine and like do somthing with hyper terminal or should i just try selling it/throwing it out..

Just because they *look* like parallel ports does not mean they are.

NO,,

To keep the answers simnple,,, no, you cannot hook it to your XP machine, thru the parrell port. It is based on a different set of hardware than your PC.
