would a bios update fix my problem??

i have posted in another thread about a problem i have of irregular symbols and "funky coloured rectangles" appearing from the very first graphics card post onwards.
no solutions yet, and i was comming round to the conclusion that the only thing that would sort the problem out would be a future motherboard bios update.

However something said in another thread i read somewhere got me thinking.

If the problem occurs right from the first post, has the bios any effect on this? and could an update fix it??

i doubt it would help, especially if any other graphics card has worked before, if during post the graphics card is messing up, it's gone for good i'm afraid.

i forgot to mention the graphics card does work on other pc's and the problem seems to be specific between my MSI KT3 motherboard and Hercules 3d prophet 2 ultra gfx. other cards do work fine with the kt3 motherboard and it has been rock steady with an old voodoo 3 card (touch wood).

but i really love my ultra :'(

if there is a bios upgrade it is possible that this might help. it is possible that this card brings out a problem that the voodoo didnt. this is unlikely like he said but possible. I am sure you tried the agp settings in the cmos. so I would contact the video card manufacturer about compatability
