I am about to carry out a website refurb and all the files are .htm, and with them needing dynamic content most of those pages are now going to have to be made to .asp pages.

Im worried that all those links around the search engines will now be nullified, and was wondering if there was an answer to it.

My thoughts where either re-directions scripts in the .htm pages, or using web forwarding.

But as you will understand my main worry is the loss of those links as they are established.

Hey leeboycymru,

I'm working on exactly this scenario at present - and my progress together with help from Feherke & Chris Hirst you can read in this thread:

I've almost got a search engine friendly answer to this using a Custom 404 page, so hang in there and we'll both have a cool solution very soon...

Cheers,

Rob
