Workstation Service

I want to join a win2k machine to my domain but the option to do so are greyed out.
I checked my services and the workstation service is greyed out. When i try to start it i get the following error:
Error 87 parmeter is incorrect.
Very descriptive i know!
So i uninstalled the cluient for microsoft networks and the client for netware as well as re-installed my novell client and this did not fix the issue.
Any ideas please?

I'd try a repair reinstall:-
