Workstation can't see entire network

I run a network with approx 300 clients and 1 of them has trouble occasionally seeing the entire network. This usually happens on Monday morning. The computer will be able to logon but will see only about half of the network. If I disconnect it and connect it to another port it will see every computer on the network. I can then plug it back into the original port, logon and it is again able to see the entire network. I am having the port re-wired, but am not sure if this is the cause. I have never had intermittant cable problems. Either the cable is bad or it isn't.

Any ideas?

I am running WINS and DHCP. I've changed the name of the computer several times and it still doesn't matter. I changed the name again about 2 weeks ago and it hasn't happened since but it only happens regularly about once every 7 - 10 days. Any ideas?

If you have not already checked. Remove or disable any un-used protocols Netbuei or IPX from the workstation.

I'll give it a try. It hasn't happened lately though. It may have been a WINS issue. I changed the name of the box.

Hi,

I've setup WINS on my BDC.
However, I need to add "NetBeui" on my client machine in order to browse the domain.
I've tried specifying in my TCP/IP properties to include my WINS IP address but it still can't browse the network.

It gives me a direct "Cannot access the domain" error message.

Pls help.

i am having problem while networking, where ever i wanna copy or store anyfile in my server i can't do it couse its asking for password, and i remembered i didn't gave any password while installing, so plz help me out from this such think i am having lot's of problem from it .
