We recently upgraded and added a new server just for Macola to run on and are loving it, but we have one workstation that is having some problems. It is a Win2000 Pro machine. Whne he goes to access a crystal report, it comes up with a message:

'The path "Please insert disk labeled "Visual Basic for Applications (2720)" cannot be found. Verify that you have access to the location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'vba6.msi' from which you can install the product VBA (2720).'

It then locks up Macola and kicks you out.

I have tried installing it (vba6.msi) from the Macola install folder and also tried registering any related dll's including cruflma.dll, but nothing has helped. Anyone run into this before or have any other suggestions?

Thanks!
Stacy

Silly question, but has the Macola client install been performed on this machine?

There are no silly questions ...I've done some stupid things before! But the client is installed, and I tried reinstalling it as well in hopes it was just some corrupted file or something, but it didn't help. :(

This is a workstation access not access through Citrix or Terminal Services correct?

Yes, it is a workstation at our main office. We have mostly XP Pro machines here, and two Win2000 Pro machines. One is working fine, and this is the only one with a problem. Our TS users are working fine as well.

However, we do have one Win98 machine left that is also having problems, but I think that is network related; he can't access the new server. He rarely uses Macola so I am not going to worry about him just yet. That machine is mostly for email and typing letters and will hopefully be upgraded soon as well anyhow. But the Win2000 Pro machine has me stumped.

No, we haven't bought Flexibility yet (although I would like to). Its version 7.6.100a, if that helps any.

Thanks,
Stacy

I would first remove and reinstall the Macola client on the workstation.

To remove it, do the following:

Delete the folder c:\program files\common files\macola shared
Delete the file c:\windows\macola7.ini
Delete the registry key hkey_local_machine\software\macola
Reboot

Reinstall Macola from a mapped drive like m:\macsql\install\setup.exe

Since it's Win2k, the user needs to have rights on the local computer. You can either make them an administrator of the local workstation or go into the registry and give them full rights to two keys, hkey_local_machine\software\macola and hkey_local_machine\software\odbc.

I had already tried reinstalling Macola, but just to double-check that I didn't overlook any of the steps, I just tried deleting it and reinstalling again, but still no luck. He has administrator rights to his machine as well. :(

BTW, I have the 98 machine fixed, it was just a minor network problem.

Simply in order to take the network out of the equation, if you sign onto this workstation with another network ID, does it still have a problem?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Office with all of the options on the machine.

Thanks for the help ...I don't have it fixed just yet (too busy!), but I am sure we are on the right path now, because just uninstalling Office has been a mess. I've had to get Microsoft tech support involved because it kept going into install mode while uninstalling. They are helping me figure out what made it go nuts. But I'm sure that must have something to do with it.

Thanks!!

I know its been a little while since posting to this thread, but I am just able to get back to this issue. I've been busy and the workstation is actually a laptop that has been out of the building for a while until today.

I finally got all of MS Office removed. I had to download a cleanup utility for Microsoft to get rid of it all, but it seems to have taken care of the issue with requests for the cd. Now I am having a different problem. When we go to run any ICR report, it says "installing VBA" and then locks up with a vague message about a 'pwe.exe' error. After finally getting all of MS Office removed, I went back through and removed and reinstalled Macola and jumped through every hoop I could think of, but still no luck. Any other suggestions by chance?
