Last night we unloaded SMP from within NWConfig and for the first time in ages we got a full backup of a server AND a remote server which took less than 3 hrs and didn't hang or fall over!!!
This is definately worth trying as a work round especially if you haven't had a good backup for a long time like ourselves!
