Have client who with 11.0.4.7 IP Office 500 v.2
They only have Essential and IP End points.
Have new remote worker who wants to use Workplace. Have VPN in place.
It is my understanding that would need Avaya Softphone License to work.
However was told could get it to work with one of the 4 built in free Remote Worker license.
Have tried multiple ways to get to work in lab and am unable.
So reaching out to make sure not spinning wheels.
Can you get Workplace to work with just Essential and IP Endpoints?
Or do you need Avaya Softphone License.

Here's the info you are after user licences

You'll need Preferred Edition as well :-(

I think the 4 free licences are just for remote H.323 phones but Workplace uses SIP.

I have a couple systems using Workplace with only essential edition. You do need a softphone license, and Workplace can't run in simultaneous mode like it can with preferred edition and office worker licenses.

Thank you guys. Biv343 thanks for heads up on won't work in simultaneous mode. In this case they would just be using the softphone but that's definitely important to know in setting expectations.
