Hi All.

I think I know what the answer to this, but as Scripture says "in abundance of counselors there is victory."

A customer has a workplace softphone on their computer and it works just fine. Yay. When they are on the phone, or have a call on hold, another call can't be transferred to the extension. Even if it went to voicemail, the customer would be happy with that.

The softphone is simultaneous with a desk phone, and the desk phone has 3 intercom keys, with one reserved CA.

Is it possible to get more than one call on the softphone, or is it "one call at a time". I have tried forwarding on busy / no answer and unconditional, to no avail.

Regards

Multiple appearances are an abomination- no one can manage 2 separate calls eficiently & it just upsets callers when you try
reduce the main phone to 2 appearance keys (with reserve Last CA) then when the 2nd call comes in the call should route to VM ratehr than ringing the 2nd apearance on the desk phone

HI IP Guru.

That has been confirmed. Their main extension is 2 CA, Telephony Reserve last CA is checked.
When I do this with my test system, works fine. On their system I believe it is how I had to do the softphones.

Because of THEIR network people, the customer wanted extensions built on their main office for the user softphone. Ok, says I. Their hard phone extensions are unconditionally call forwarded to their softphone extensions, and if they have one call up it works fine.

A second person calls and they get a "busy".

I've also tried modifying things with instead of using unconditional call forwarding, using the busy / no answer entries. But no luck.

Any OTHER ideas? (I am grateful for the response, to be sure.)

Regards

Make sure "User | Telephony | Call Settings | Call Waiting On" is enabled.

And disable "User | Telephony | Call Settings | Busy on Held".

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I'll give it atry and advise.
Thanks for the response.

Dont use forward unconditional
use twinning/mobiletwinning as apropriate (twinning is best if using a softphone)

or better yet just log on with the 1 extn number to either the hard phone or the softphone as appropriate!

One more thing to try... thanks Guru.

WIll advise.

Hi All.

I have 99% of the softphone issues resolved, thanks to your help, save for the fact that I can't get the message waiting indicator to light, if there is a voicemail at the main extension using either twinning or the other Call waiting option supplied in the thread.

Any idea?

Regards

A guess, source numbers

Hi Guru.

I'll give that a try, and advise.

Hi Guru.

Did as you suggested, and now the customer can get 3 calls (even though they have 2 Call appearances. However the message waiting light is not coming active.

I did try twinning extensions, but that didn't seem to work either.

Any other ideas?

Regards

I've tried all of the options, with the suggestions given, and no luck.
I guess I need to go to the Leave mail in the VMPro.
