I'm currently developing a delivery system in-house and would like to add the ability to store signatures from clients receiving deliveries from our company.

I'm about 80% done with the project and this idea came up.
Here's what I'd like to do:

Driver deliver 10 boxes to client
Client Sign for items
We scan the signature and store it.
Sales person searches the client, displays delivered items and check who signed for it and time of delivery.
Simply right?

Where do I start

that others throw at him"

You are not actually going to scan the signature and store it as an image, right?

Actually I was thinking about scanning it then saving it as either a .tif or .gif and insert the link to the image in my recordset to display it when need be. Why?
Do you have a better idea?

No, I just wanted to make sure about the word "scanning". Delivery companies "scan" the barcodes, then enter the name/signature information. Barcode has a unique ID for that parcel. After you scan you enter the name/signature so you put a relationship between this unique ID and the receiver's name.

In your case you can save the signature file same as the ID number. For example for the parcel 123421423 you will have 123421423.gif. If "delivered" field is true then you can request the file ID & ".gif". Something like that.

I have the concept down and I have found what I'm looking for Thanks.

You're not a complete programmer unless you know how to guess.
I hope I never consider myself an 'expert'.
