I am attempting to programatically create pdf documents from word without directly opening word or Adobe using COM objects.

I have created a new printer and set the port as a PDF port.

On my system (Word 2000 on a W98 system), when I select this as the active printer and "print" the document, it works fine. A pdf document is created and the program proceeds properly.

On my clients system (Word 2000 on a W2k system), when the document is "printed" Adobe Acrobat opens by itself with the new file, thus locking the file and stopping my program.

Anyone have any ideas?
