Working with background

you can not prevent a background image from tiling, but their are some work arounds
1.. create a table the exact size of the image, place the image as the tables background, and then make the actual page a colour that goes well with the picture... Make sure your table has no borders
2.. Choose an image that is the same size as the page, and make sure when the page is opened the page is sized to the correct size...
I would personaly go with the top idea..... if you try to place a pic as a background of the site, then the site, will automaticaly tile a pic if the pic is not the same size as the browser window
