Working with Archives

My Archive was full, I wanted to keep the structure (folders), so, i copy and rename my Archive. When I deleted mails in my new Archive, also in the original dissapear. I try to repair the old database but I cant get any mail that I had before.
What can I do?? Why I deleted mails in both databases??
