I need to produce a chart. I have a column of numbers (ranging from 1 - 35, with multiple instances of each).

I am trying to construct a formula with explicit ranges (i.e. 1 - 10, 11 - 20, 21 - 35), to find out how many numbers fall in those ranges.

I have used nested IF functions, COUNT and COUNTIF, but none seem to work. I am obvisouly getting the formula wrong - anyone have any thoughts??

THanks.

Problem solved. I did the following:

=COUNTIF(Data2001!AF3:AF120,"<=24")

The reason why it was not working was the cell I was testing was set to 2 digits, but in fact the number was a whole plus a fraction.

DOH!
