Hi there.

I am an Asp.Net and Java programmer with 3 years experience, in UK

Recently, I quited my job to look after a family member. This means that I will not be able to take-up full-time work for the next 3-5 months.

Are there any programming jobs (or any other computing jobs) available that I can do from home, at my own time ?

Thanks for the response.

John,

I do all of my work (Database Administration) from home (my home not is not in U.K., but I have two U.K. customer companies).

I gathered my two dozen customer companies by contacting companies that I knew needed my expertise but who did not want to pay for a full-time expert. This works out well for consulting income since the client companies don't want to pay for full-time and I only work for each of the companies for no more than 1/24 of my time (on an annualised basis).

So, if you are willing to work at home, doing Asp.Net and Java programming, then "Get your boots on and start consulting".<grin>

What in Santa's Workshop is an Asp.Net?

I've got a Fishing Net, and I've fallen into a Safety Net. I've even put the ball in the BackofThe Net, but that's got me stumped!

I know what a Java Programme is though:
Code:
Do Until Awake
ADD One spoon of granules per cup
WAIT for kettle to boil
FILL cup with hot water
DRINK hot Java
LOOP

Sorry...that was childish [blush]

I'm sorry Chris, but that's just shockingly poor code. You use instant?!!!!!!

Hmmm, free-lance, and in your own time.

Is there any scope for setting up a small scale (maybe e-commerce?) web development business aimed at smaller businesses etc. in your local area?

I can't offer any actual help, but you might find it useful to post this on forum1091 , tek-tips in the UK.
