I have few users with notebooks not belonging to the domain, but need to print to domain pc's.
They can access shares on the server and gets prompted for username and password. They then log in with domain\username and a password. That works fine.
If they want to add a network printer they cant see the domain pc's with shared printers. Only those in workgroup.

If you setup a restricted account so that the users only have access to printers

Then get the users to authenticate to your server share, they should then be able to add printers via add a printer -> add a network printer, or a printer attached to another machine -> find a printer in the directory

Hope that helps

Sorry, also forgot to add:

Make sure the printers on the PC's are shared out and listed in the directory

Printer is connected to domain pc and is shared. Workgroup laptops keeps on losing their connection. "Access denied" Or cant browse domain pc's with printers.

I would agree with ShackDaddy, map the network printers by IP address to workgroup PCs. You may also consider adding domain\guest to the permissions of your shared printers.
