Hi,

My boss has a 2003 server which runs one of his bespoke app's, he doesn't want to join the server to our existing domain and therefore the server sits in its own workgroup, he also doesn't login to our domain, he just logs in locally to his laptop. When my maps a drive to a shared folder on his 'workgroup' server he is asked for a username and password, does anyone know if it is possible not to be asked for a username and password?

Thanks
Miguel

When you map the network drive ... you can choose an option "use different username and password" place the correct username and password for the serverin here... iether that or you can set the admin username and password for the client to the same as that admin for the server.

I have done it both ways in the past.
