sometimes explorer will pop the work offline dialog up when i'm connected. after that, any page i try to visit will take 10 times as long to load, and the only way i can get normal activity is to reboot. any ideas?

forgot to add some info....

this happened with older versions of the browser(5.x), on different computers, though i'm running 6.x right now

c'mon...don't tell me i'm the only one with this problem

thanks a lot. i did have that enternet software, so that's probably it =)

I have the same problem and I also have the EnterNet software. I read another post on this topic that said to go in the registry and make sure two items (dont recall which) were set to "yes" or "auto". I did that. Then I did the repair on IE6 through the add/remove programs.

I have DSL and EnterNet. It's a rare occasion that IE pops up with the no internet connection available dialog box but my outlook express does it every single time when checking my hotmail accounts, but will not do it when checking my ISP email accounts (which it checks first).

The only resolutions I have found in TekTips regarding this subject I have tried and yet it still does it. It seems to be focused to Outlook Express and hotmail - which I guess is web-based.

It gets really irritating when my Outlook Express is supposed to regularly check for new email but wont because it comes to a halt when the dialog box pops up.

Another thing is often when I try to access web sites the little globe in the upper right corner of IE will spin for a long time before going to the page I want then it finally goes and sometimes takes its sweet time loading it. Other times it goes right to it and loads lightning fast.

There seems to be configuration problems at play here that I just dont understand.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

Yes...get rid of Enternet and install RASPPPoE instead. I no longer have these similar problems since I started using RASPPPoE. is where you can find it. joegz
