Anyone seen a problem in GW6 with items mysteriously disappearing from the Work in Progress folder? I have a user who said that she had 15-20 items in the folder and she now only has 10. She did not send any of the items.

How old are the draft messages? The Work In Progress folder is a folder where you can save messages you have started but want to finish later. Cleanup options apply to this folder as well as your in box. Check to ensure the mailbox cleanup hasn't deleted the draft messages. Brent Schmidt CNE,Network + [atom]

I have confirmed with the user that the oldest message was dated 2/24/03. Our cleanup maintenance for the In Box is set to delete anything older than 90 days and Sent Items is set to delete anything older than 14 days. However, the items are not in the Trash either.

Clean up options apply to the Trash bin as well as any folder defined in Groupwise. Check your System Option settings to determine what values are set for InBox, Sent Items, Trash and folders. If trash is set to 1 day, items deleted will dissappear by the next morning. You can get to the System options through using NW Admin or Console 1.

I don't think this has anything to do with settings, but possibly a flaw in the software.

I use the work-in-progress folder extensively and on several ocassions in GW 5.5 and also in 6.0, my messages have disappeared while in the process of editing them. Case in point: I was in the process of working on a large message one day and during the course of creating and editing it, I opened and closed it several times, maybe 6-8. When I finalized the message and saved it to the file, instead of asking me to save this to the folder, it just disappeared, but not to trash. I did a search, but it was gone. Still other times, the message appears to be saving to this folder, but when I open it, it's not.

Because several of my users have complained of the same issue, I can only conclude that the problem is this folder.

Stars
