work aruond for 2086 bite limitation on URL in IE

When passing a form in IE there is a 2086 bite limitation on the URL that passes which in a long sql query being submitted IE crashes. Is there a work around. This form parameter passes fine in Netscape.

I need the limit on an IE URL to be longer than the default.

I resolved my own problem.
Using method=post this limitation does not exist.
by default method=get is stated.
