In planview Work & Resource Management I allocated resources to a particular task approved signed the time sheet & approved the time sheet. But still the Work & resource management Screen does not shows any Actual effort. Why it's not happening & how to do that.

I seem to recall that the Resource needs to enter Actual Hours. Or the Resource Manager. And I believe there is some "batch" process to post the hours against the projects; we used to run that process weekly.

Thank you very much for reaching out john. I have some further doubts to ask in this issue. Hope you don't mind.

How come the resource have the access to enter the time in planview. I know that User(like resource manager, Project manager)can sign in to planview by their userid & password, But while creating a resource in the [ Administration--> Users and roles --> resources & associated users ] I cant be able to allocate any passwords to them.

Beyond that. I signed the time sheet as a resource manager and approved the time sheet. But the status shows that signed, approved, but not progressed. I thought that i approved those timesheet for future dates, but its not. So I cant understand what it is.

Ah yes, progressed is the key word. That's what "posts" it. That's the batch process I mentioned in a previous reply. I am not familiar with the process for assigning passwords - sorry.

[hourglass]. Thanks for your knowledge transfer JOHN. Once again thank you for your back to back reply. I will try and get back to you when I found out. And beyond that I'm an intern working in the implementation of Planview in reputed company. I'm looking forward for my career in the field of planview. But i don't know that whether it is a good decision or not. please guide me in that to get some good insights.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, my experience with Planview stops in 2012, and I was only using it sporadically back then. I was part of the team that did a proof of concept when we moved from HP PPM to Planview, but afterwards, didn't do much. It was only about 18 months, and nothing since 2012. I don't think I have anything electronic that I can share. I may have some hard-copy stuff, but it's going to be 4+ years old. If I even have it anymore. I'll try to help as I can, but it's been awhile.....
