WordPro SmartSuite96 in Windows Me

I cannot get WordPro 96 from my SmartSuite software running on Windows Me to reconnize my old WordPro documents created under Windows 95. The error message states the documents were created using a "newer" version of WordPro. The only thing that is "newer" is the operating system.
