Does anyone use WordPress?

It has a veritical menu, usually absolutely positioned at the right of the page.

I've edited things a bit to make the menu a horizontal dropdown (suckerfish revisited).

It works fine, except for the Calendar dropdown. Hyperlinked days are stretched. When you hover, the style applies and the calendar is "fixed".

I thought I'd add:

the WordPress calendar is a table. The menu is a nested ul/li construction.

When I move the table out of the list, the table formats correctly.

I can only assume that the list style and the calendar table styles are conflicting or interacting in a way that I don't expect.

However, I haven't been able to untangle it on my own.
