wordperfect freezes my computer 1

I have wordperfect 8 installed on my old P1 computer and had no problems. I have now replaced my computer and purchased a suped up amd athalon and installed wordperfect 8. Now I cannot open some of my old files and when I open some of the others my computer freezes up and at other times it works perfectly. I have tried to reinstall wordperfect and things will work OK for a while then the problems start all over again.

I would verymuch like to access some of these old file. Ps my operating system is me.

and download service packs for WP8. It may be that to run in Me you need Corel 9 or 10, but give the service packs a try first. Also,have you been to Windowsupdate.com, and made sure you have all the updates for Me? I'd do that,then the Corel SP's.
