WordPerfect 2002 SLOW opening files from Server 1

We recently upgraded from Corel 8 to WordPerfect 2002 (on new XP PRO machines) and have been very disappointed in retrieval times from the server for files. It may take several minutes to open a file that is on the server. Talking with Corel we downloaded the updates, and it did not help. We have a Novell server. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Assuming that you are using Groupwise for e-mail, try renamining the odma32.dll file to odma32.jef to see if that resolves the problem. The odma32.dll is somewhere in C:\windows. This will disable some some file management feature in GW that we were not using back when we had Novell and GW.

Hi Dfestus,

Is the slowness waiting for the file open dialog box to appear or is it the actual loading of the file. We have found that over a network Novell 4.2, the file dialog box takes far too long to open. We found the fix for this is to turn off "use enhanced file dialogs" in the setting options -> file options section.
