You know what's really lame? Corel not having the corporate character (guts) to post something of value on their website concerning SP2. "Coming soon" doesn't cut it when you're competing against the likes of Microsoft Office. When the date was not met (11-12 is when they were telling customers) there should have been a notice posted right away on the WP website. But, alas, no guts. WP10 looks great, but it has to WORK and from many using the CD version of SP2 (only offered to retail version customers) it doesn't sound like it's working very well. So, Corel, why not tell us that it, in fact, is indeed why there is a
delay? Most could handle a little honesty about further delay and Corel explaining the desire to get it right. But silence? That will simply guarantee WP10 will be the last Wordperfect. You would think a product taking death breaths as it is would do everything possible to keep current
customers happy. And by the way....HOW LONG have you had everything you need to have this ready and working with XP? We all know the answer -- ***plenty*** of time. But, if it's still not ready, it's still not ready -- just TELL US and clue us in!! We HAVE paid for this program, Corel!
While I'm at it - I disagree completely with those who say it's okay with the retail version customers getting the SP2 CD and having to PAY for the Shipping and Handling. I mean, really, if it's Corel's fault that the product is not working as advertised, why should the customer who forked
over the $$$ for an "as advertised" Wordperfect 10 have to turn around and PAY for Corel to correct their own poor and hasty code? "Oh, Mr. Jones, we shipped the car with three tires? Well, uh, Sir, we have a Service Pack for that particular automobile with that problem -- and that service pack WILL include that fourth tire. Shipping and handling, Mr. Jones will be......." Don't think so. WordPerfect 10 looks nice and sometimes works nice, but it is worthless as a day-in, day-out tool until it's fixed. Corel?
