Hi (or should it be help!),

I have an offical copy of Microsoft FrontPage 2003 (on Microsoft CD). When I tried to install it on my XP PC it would not accept the key. I then tried installing it on the original 2003 server (never originally installed) that it came with but with the same results. Do these keys expire or?

Best regards,

Young Codger [bigglasses]

It was originally for a server?

If it was OEM then you can not install it on a different machine.

Although frankly, why anyone would want to use FrontPage in the first place seems crazy to me.

In any case, if it was OEM, you are out of luck.

Hi,

Yes it was for the Server but apparently was linked to the original drive. I suspect when the Server was upgraded a few years ago all the software bar FrontPage was sorted out.

Maybe someone else can suggest something, but methinks you are out of luck.

Keys do not expire. And keys are not tied to machines (as far as I know) - licensing and activation are tied to machines but - again, as far as I know - if the key doesn't work, you are using the wrong key. Are you absolutely sure it is the right key for the CD you have - I believe FrontPage 2003, and the Office 2003 it came with will have different keys (on the CD, or the CD case, or a COA with it)?

Enjoy,
Tony

Agree with Tony. Microsoft Keys are tied to Microsoft Media. OEM or not, you may not be able to activate twice, but you can install with the Key, if you have the right media. The only possibility here is either a) You have the wrong media, or b) your key is somehow not correct. (From a different media install, or maybe one of the characters is illegible, a 8 looks like a 3 or a O looks like a 0?)

Seek another path.

Best Regards,
Scott
